Morris On the 7th day of September 1925, this community was sorrow stricken because of the sudden death of C.H. Morris. The deceased was born January 8, 1867, near Asheville, in Buncomb county, N.C. He professed faith in Christ and united with Sugar Grove Baptist church in 1892. He moved his church letter to New Victory Baptist Church in 1920, where it remained until his death. He was a noble Christian, being among the most active members of the church. He possessed the qualities it takes to make a true Christian, a good citizen, a noble husband and father. He was not gifted in oratory, but he was faithful to his church and to God.   "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter now into the joys of thy Lord."   He was married to Nancy Jane Dugger in December 1891. He leaves his wife and three children and a number of other relatives.   We would say to the bereft, weep not as those who have no hope, for blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, from henceforth they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them. Resolutions: RESOLVED, first, that a copy of these resolutions be spread on the minutes of the church as a memorial to the deceased. Second, that a copy be sent to the bereft wife. Waller Dorothy Tester Committee, New Victory Baptist Church   In Jonesborough Herald: Resolutions of Respect WHEREAS, it has pleased Almighty God to remove from our midst our Financial Secretary and brother, C. Hamby Morris, and WHEREAS, our deceased brother, C. Hamby Morris, has at all times proved himself to be a true friend to the membership of our Local Union; therefore be it RESOLVED, that we, the members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, in Local Union 2451, Erwin, Tennessee, fully appreciating our great loss, in the untimely passing of our brother, do hereby express our sincere regret, and extend to the family of the deceased brother our profound sympathy in this, their hour of sorrow in the loss of a loving husband and father, and commend them to Him, "Who is able to comfort them" and be it further RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be sent to the family of th deceased, to the Erwin Magnet, and a copy be spread on the records of our Local Union 2451, Erwin, Tennessee.
