 David was born in
the front room of parents house on West Main Street in Jonesborough
Tennessee. He graduated from Jonesborough High School where he
met and started dating Eva Pearl Stoots. He graduated from East
Tennessee State University with a degree in Accounting.

- He served in the U.S. Air Corps and was stationed in Japan
during his tour. And received 2 medals.

- He worked at the The Union at Kingsport Press (which made
Childcraft Books and World Book Encyclopedia). The company workers
went on strike in 1963. After a time, David sought new work.
He and Eva first moved to Tallahassee, Florida for a job where
they stayed with Cynthia and Pam during the summer. Before September,
they returned to Tennessee for Vickie and Rose Stoots and stayed
in Florida until the winter of 1963-64. They returned to Johnson
City during one of the coldest periods for the area. David again
sought work and moved to an apartment in the spring of 1964 to
Arlington, Virginia. He got a job with the Bureau of Engraving
and Printing where he stayed until his retirement in 1988. He
was the forman of 2nd printing of U.S. Notes when he retired.
(2nd printing places the green markings on notes, such as the
serial numbers).

 David and Eva moved their family
to Springfield, Virginia just before Memorial Day. The house
was a Rambler and was painted green. It had a 8 foot willow oak
tree on the left side when facing the house. It sits inside the
infamous Capital beltway outside Washington DC. They arrived
at the house on May 31, 1964. They paid $17,000 for the house.

- At his 30 year high school reunion, he was voted "Most
Changed", going from a shy tall string bean, to a social
buzzing bee. Reconnecting with many of his high school friends.

- He was an avid golfer, often sharing his passion with some
of his closest and best friends. He joined an over 50 golf league
after his retirement and captured the top championship honors
in the late 1990s.

- Died at 7:04 p.m. after a lengthy recovery from heart bypass
surgery. Cause of death: Congestive Heart Failure. His lungs
couldn't strengthen for oxygen removal. Fluid around organs caused
problems for his heart and lungs. After being given the options
and potential diagnosis, he requested to end it. The order was
given to remove respiratory support at about 5:00 p.m. His wife
and children were present when the oxygen was removed.

- Indian characteristics:
- Copper toned skin
- Black hair. Both sets of grandparents had black hair.
- No Scarborough white forelock but developed white eyebrow by
age 60.
- Hearing loss before 65 years old (probably from extended exposure
to printing equipment at work).
